The personal safety and health of each employee of Guinn Construction Company is our first priority. We have a company goal of zero injuries and want to see all our employees and co-workers return home safely at the end of each day. We provide safety training, protective equipment and leadership to ensure everyone has the tools they need to complete the job safely. No job is done efficiently unless it is done safely. Guinn Construction is a team and together we strive to do great work in the safest way possible. It is the intent of Guinn Construction Company to comply with all laws concerning the operation of the business and the health and safety of our employees and the public.
No employee will work at a job known to be unsafe, unreasonable, or dangerous to their health and safety. Employee's cooperation in detecting hazards, reporting dangerous conditions and controlling workplace hazards is a condition of employment. Employees have the right to stop work and are expected to use it when they feel necessary. We must constantly be aware of conditions in all work areas that can produce or lead to injuries. Before work begins each day, employees complete a Job Safety Analysis Form (JSA) to analyze the hazards and determine ways to mitigate and eliminate them. On a weekly basis, the Site Supervisor conducts Tailgate Meetings on industry safety topics and site specific conditions. We reward employees for working safely through our safety incentive program and encourage safe work practices daily.
A Safety Committee meets periodically to update the policies and to improve safety practices. To keep up with the ever changing industry we encourage input and ideas from employees and continually work to maintain our safety culture.
We use California Safety Training Corporation to keep our supervisors, foreman, and/or employee's current in the following training:
- CPR/FIRST AID
- TRENCHING & SHORING
- CONFINED SPACE
- PASSPORT (H2S)
- MSHA (as needed)
- FORKLIFT TRAINING
- SUPERVISOR TRAINING
- SEXUAL HARASSMENT
Drug & Alcohol
Guinn Construction has a zero tolerance policy for Drugs and Alcohol. We conduct pre employment, random, post incident and reasonable suspicion testing. We also perform unannounced testing at random on job sites.
